Publications Ethics and Malpractice Statement

These guidelines are based on COPE's Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors and Halicon Publishers guidelines for publication ethics.

Authors' Responsibilities

Authors are expected to present an accurate and original account of their research work, accompanied by an objective discussion of its significance. Manuscripts should include sufficient detail and appropriate references—especially from recent literature—to allow others to replicate the study. Any form of fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements constitutes unethical behavior and is strictly prohibited.

Authors must not submit the same research to more than one journal or primary publication simultaneously. All submitted work must be entirely original, and if the work or words of others have been used, proper citations or quotations must be provided. Full acknowledgment of prior relevant work, including publications that have shaped the nature of the research, is essential.

Manuscripts submitted to the International Journal of Business Management and Legal Affairs must not have been previously published, submitted, or under review elsewhere at the time of submission. Authors are required to agree to this policy as part of a mandatory submission checklist.

Only individuals who have made significant contributions to the research should be listed as co-authors. Others who contributed in a limited capacity should be acknowledged appropriately. Authorship criteria are outlined in the journal’s submission guidelines, and the corresponding author must ensure that all co-authors have reviewed and approved the final version of the manuscript and consented to its submission.

Authors must disclose any conflicts of interest and sources of funding. They are also required to adhere to the journal’s double-blind peer review process.

Should authors discover a significant error or inaccuracy in their published work, it is their obligation to promptly inform the journal editors and cooperate in issuing a correction or retraction if necessary.

Lastly, authors are expected to understand and avoid all forms of plagiarism. All submissions are screened for plagiarism before peer review. Any form of plagiarism is considered unethical publishing behavior and will not be tolerated. Verbatim statements must be enclosed in quotation marks and accompanied by appropriate citations.

Reviewers' Responsibilities

Peer review is a critical component in maintaining the quality and integrity of scholarly publications. Reviewers play an essential role in enhancing the standard of submitted manuscripts and supporting the editorial decision-making process. To uphold the principles of publication ethics, reviewers of the International Journal of Business Management and Legal Affairs are expected to follow the guidelines below:

Reviewers must treat all materials received for review as confidential. Under no circumstances should the content be shared, discussed, or used for personal advantage, including reproducing similar research. Such actions are unethical and violate the privileged nature of the peer review process.

Reviews should be conducted with objectivity and professionalism. Personal criticism of the authors is inappropriate. Reviewers should offer constructive feedback, highlighting the originality of the work, its contribution to the field of business management and legal affairs, and areas that require improvement. Additionally, reviewers should draw attention to any relevant published research that may have been overlooked or not properly cited by the authors.

If a reviewer becomes aware of any duplication of content or submission in another journal, they should immediately inform the editor.

Reviewers must disclose any conflicts of interest that may affect their impartiality. They should refrain from reviewing manuscripts that fall outside their expertise or if they are unable to complete the review in a timely manner. If a reviewer feels unqualified to assess a manuscript, it is their responsibility to decline the review invitation.

By adhering to these responsibilities, reviewers contribute significantly to the ethical and academic rigor of the International Journal of Business Management and Legal Affairs.

Editors' Responsibilities

Editors of the International Journal of Business Management and Legal Affairs hold full responsibility and authority for accepting or rejecting submitted manuscripts based on scholarly merit, originality, clarity, and relevance to the journal’s scope. Editorial decisions are guided by the quality of the content, the significance of the research, and its contribution to the fields of business management and legal affairs, without influence from the authors' race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic background, citizenship, or political views.

Editors are entrusted with the task of enhancing the manuscript from the dual perspective of authorship intent and reader engagement, ensuring that each published article meets high academic and editorial standards. When necessary, editors should issue corrections, clarifications, retractions, or apologies to maintain the integrity of the academic record.

Confidentiality is critical throughout the editorial process. Editors must not disclose information about a manuscript under consideration to anyone other than the corresponding author, designated reviewers, editorial board members, and the publisher. The identity of reviewers must remain confidential unless explicit consent is provided.

Editors are expected to manage conflicts of interest transparently and must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where such conflicts exist. They must also ensure the journal adheres to international ethical guidelines for research and publication. In cases of suspected misconduct, whether identified in published or unpublished work, editors are responsible for initiating appropriate investigations and taking action in line with COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines.

Furthermore, editors must be aware of the sources of research funding and consider potential ethical implications related to funding disclosures.

By adhering to these responsibilities, editors help maintain the academic integrity and ethical standards of the International Journal of Business Management and Legal Affairs.

Competing Interests

All authors and reviewers associated with the International Journal of Business Management and Legal Affairs are required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest that may influence the content or assessment of the submitted manuscript. A conflict of interest may include financial relationships, personal connections, academic commitments, or professional affiliations that could be perceived to affect the objectivity or integrity of the work.

To ensure transparency and uphold the highest ethical standards, any declared competing interests will be disclosed in the published article when relevant.

Manuscripts submitted by members of the editorial board or from institutions with which they are affiliated will be assigned to independent editors who are not connected with the submission. The designated editor will handle the entire peer review and decision-making process to avoid any potential bias or undue influence.

By adhering to these guidelines, the journal ensures a fair, objective, and ethical review and publication process.

Consent and Copyrights Issues

By submitting a manuscript to the International Journal of Business Management and Legal Affairs, authors retain the copyright of their work and simultaneously grant the journal the right of first publication. The work will be published under open access, allowing wider dissemination while ensuring authorship rights are preserved.

Authors confirm, upon submission, that they have obtained all necessary permissions and consents related to the content of the manuscript. If the manuscript includes any confidential or proprietary data involving individuals, clients, or organizations, informed consent must be obtained from the relevant parties. A signed Consent Form should be submitted along with the manuscript as part of the ethical submission requirements.

Additionally, if the manuscript includes any previously published or copyrighted material, such as charts, figures, or excerpts, it is the responsibility of the authors to obtain written permission from the original copyright holders. A clear declaration about the usage of such content must be included within the manuscript and appropriately cited. Documentation of this permission must be submitted as supplementary material at the time of manuscript submission.

Failure to comply with these requirements may result in delays in the review process or rejection of the manuscript.
